The vision of a Prayer Hub in the city

Making prayer our first responsibility. Making nations our prayer priority.

Several years ago God challenged us about His vision for prayer in our city and through our ministry. The Lord gave specific pictures about what He desires to do in Tshwane to establish a prayer center that will serve the work of prayer in the city, South Africa and the nations.

We are convinced that the time has come for us to give expression to the vision God has shown and we have started to give faith steps towards this huge project becoming a reality.

In past years we were given the following Scripture as a word from God to UPF:

Is 54:2

2 “Enlarge the place of your tent… let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. 3 For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.

Is 54:4,6

4 “Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; …6 For the Lord has called you …

A House of Prayer

Our city is blessed with many churches, denominations and congregations. Yet, there is not a lot of places in our city set apart for the purpose of prayer. We believe prayer should be a kingdom priority. The Capital city of South Africa should be headquarters for the important work of prayer. Just as God spoke to the prophet about Jerusalem after the captives returned from Babylon, so we believe God is speaking to our ‘Jerusalem’ in this season. The words of Haggai also echo in our ears:

Hag 1:3-4,7-8

2 “Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, “The time has not come, the time that the LORD’s house should be built.” 3 Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?”

7 Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! 8 Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the LORD.

Isaiah made it clear that God’s house is a house of prayer. We call on believers in our city, let us take hands and build a place for the Lord dedicated to being a house of prayer.

Is 56:7

7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

The building will be a place set apart of seeking God in prayer, a dedicated facility to house night and day prayer, to equip and train believers in prayer, to run and host strategic prayer processes to anchor transformation in the city and even nations.

The facilities in the building will include:

Reception and Foyer
Auditorium
Lecture Halls
Meeting Rooms
Prayer Rooms
Library
Offices for many different prayer ministries
Kitchen and Catering Facilities
Bookshop and Coffee Shop
Study Stations
Recording Studio
Prayer Ops Rooms
Video and Audio Editing facilities
Guest rooms and self-catering facilities for visiting teams, etc.

We invite you to contact us if you would like to be part of a company of believers who will carry this vision until it is fully realised!
