India Prayer Group

The India prayer group meets every first Sunday of the month, from 16:00-17:30 (South African time).

Believers in Pretoria can join in person, and other believers can join via zoom:

• We pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in India, especially for those who are being persecuted or are cast in prison because of they faith in Jesus.
• We speak to various workers for God in India, and pray into their needs.
• We bring prayer requests received from Indian believers to God.
• We pray into God’s vision for India, specially for the prayer journeys God is sending out to India.

Why must we care about India?

Matt 28:19-20

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations… and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

India is the most populous nation on earth. In that vast country about 2% of the population are Christians. Most people (around 80%) are Hindus. It means that roughly every sixth person on earth is a Hindu! We cannot take the commands of our Lord seriously and ignore the Hindu people. Their plight must stir the conscience of all true believers.

What can we do about a country so far away from us and so different in culture?

Matt 9:38

Pray the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest…

Col 4:2

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving…

The bible is clear – we have to pray for those God wants to save, and we must continue praying for them. Once we pray for them, God will reveal to us what further He wants us to do.
