Unlimited Prayer Frontiers (South Africa)
Making prayer our first responsibility. Making nations our prayer priority.
Making prayer our first responsibility. Making nations our prayer priority.
Unlimited Prayer Frontiers believe God has called us to mobilise born-again believers in Jesus Christ for the vital work of prayer and intercession. We organise and coordinate prayer efforts locally and internationally, equip believers through biblically grounded training, and provide research and resources that help intercessors pray more strategically, knowledgeably, and sustainably.
We believe God has called us to raise up an army that would pray for the nations of the world so that the fulness of God’s kingdom can come to every people, tribe, nation and tongue.
How UPF started:
In 2012, several South African believers involved in strategic prayer initiatives for the nation of France came together to seek God’s direction for the way forward. Over the preceding 12 years, they conducted strategic prayer journeys into France under the banner of UPF (United Prayer for France – South Africa). During this time, God taught us valuable lessons about the effective planning, execution, and completion of prayer journeys in a foreign nation.
As we sought the face of God, it became clear to us that the time had come not only to impact the nation of France through prayer, but also to take the knowledge and experience we had gained over the past decade and apply it in many other nations, so that the end-time harvest of souls might be released into the Kingdom of God worldwide.
Thus, United Prayer for France became Unlimited Prayer Frontiers—a network of like-minded believers. UPF is registered as a non-profit organisation and functions as an interdenominational ministry serving the wider Body of Christ.
UPF is convinced that prayer is the ‘Great Condition’ for the fulfilment of the ‘Great Commission’ and that it is a pre-requisite for the gospel to effectively transform nations. In Luke 10 we read how Jesus sent our His disciples and instructed them, that upon arriving in the places to which they were sent, they had to pray so that harvest in those areas could be brought into the kingdom.
Luke 10:1-3 (NKJV)
1After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3“Go your way; behold, I send you out…
From this passage, we understand that before harvesters are sent into the fields, believers must first pray for the harvest. Prayer always precedes the gospel; it is the foundational work that prepares the way for evangelists and missionaries to gather souls into the Kingdom. Souls are the fruit of kingdom intercession.
We believe prayer is the foundation of the Christian life, firstly in the personal relationship that every believer should have with Jesus Christ and God the Father. Secondly, we are convinced that prayer as labour is the foundation of all kingdom processes in communities, cities and nations.
Strategic prayer for the nations is a powerful ministry tool that not only opens the way for believers to enter the nations as Jesus instructed but also strengthens the work of the Body of Christ globally. It helps overcome obstacles and demonic opposition, enabling the gospel to spread more effectively throughout the world.
The redemption of Christ is directly dependent on the faithful and effective prayer of the Body of Christ. May the Lord empower believers, bless them and grant them favour, so that all the nations of the world may acknowledge Him. As the following Psalm declares:
Psalms 67:1-4
1God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, Selah 2That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. 3Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. 4Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth. Selah.
UPF is committed to raising up believers in prayer and mobilizing them to intercede both in their communities and abroad, until the Gospel penetrates and transforms all the peoples of the earth!
